Social Responsibility Theme for May:  LOVE

"Spread love everywhere you go, first in your own house"

Mother Teresa

Our school's monthly theme has really given everyone at Cedar a great opportunity to think and reflect how we respect and treat people whom we interact, play and work with. It is our responsibility to think about how we behave each and every day at school, at home and in our community. Ms. Major's class has done an excellent job of brainstorming and sharing their ideas of what this topic LOVE means during our morning announcements. Their ideas have all been shared on our front bulletin board as a visual reminder for us to think about.

Ms. Major's class concluded our monthly theme with an assembly.  The school really enjoyed the presentation of the song, sung by the K-1’s – “Love is Something if You Give It Away”.  They really expressed the sentiments of the words in this song.  What a great way to send off Mrs. Drysdale to her new school, sending her sentiments filled with love.

Here are some of Ms. Major's class thoughts for this week:

Nicolas says "Love is caring for your friends, moms and dads and your teachers."

Alina says "Love is having stuffed animal meetings with your mom and dad."

Alexis says "Love is looking after your sister and loving her."

Aaron says "Love is being kind."

Dakota says "Love is having a nice family."

Anqi says "Love is giving presents."

Braydon says "Love is giving hugs."

Randi says "Love is having a safe school to go to."

Thank-you for sharing your ideas, they are all thoughtful, and great examples of this virtue, which we need to share with everyone in our lives.

Cedar Congratulates all the Track & Field Participants

This year Cedar sent 35 students to the Zone Track Meet.  We want to congratulate all of our students for their efforts and for the time they put into their training.  We are very proud of how they represented our school and tried to do their personal best.

Although all of our students did a great job of performing, Tyrone Martin had an exceptional day with many first place finishes and his accomplishments should be recognized.  Congratulations Tyrone!
